Microsoft Outlook Email Triage

Focus Box adds Outlook Categories to incoming messages so your Microsoft Outlook inbox shows priority without a new app.

How Outlook triage works

Focus Box connects to your Microsoft account through Microsoft's secure OAuth flow. As new messages arrive, Focus Box classifies each one into four priority levels — Urgent, High, Medium, and Low — and applies the matching Outlook Category color and label. The priority is visible directly inside your existing Outlook inbox.

Supported account types

Focus Box supports personal Microsoft accounts, including Hotmail.com, Live.com, and Outlook.com addresses, as well as Microsoft 365 / Exchange work accounts where the account owner has authorized Focus Box to access their mail.

Real-time, in your existing inbox

Triage happens automatically as messages arrive — there is no new app to open and no separate inbox to check. Open Outlook the way you always do, and the priority categories are already applied.

Privacy by design

Sender, subject, and body content are processed in real time to classify the message and then discarded. Only the provider's unique email ID is retained so Focus Box can avoid reclassifying the same email. Email content is never stored on Focus Box servers. OAuth tokens are encrypted before they are written to the database.

See the full Privacy Policy for details on data handling and retention.
